StructureBuilder, by WebGain Inc., is a state-of-the-art professional UML diagramming tool for Java, featuring full drag-and-drop graphical capabilities, pop-up dialog windows for parameter entry/inspection,  automatic code generation, automatic Javadoc generation, and automatic diagram generation from existing code.   StructureBuilder is a pure Java application,  which means that it can run under Windows, DOS, Mac, or Unix. The version installed in the labs is the Enterprise level, version 4.0, which will create UML class diagrams, auto-generate corresponding Java code, "reverse-engineer" existing code into diagrams and auto-generate Javadoc comments in the form of a mini-web site.   In addition, this top-of-the-line version can be used to create UML use case and sequence diagrams plus regular and Enterprise Java Beans.  StructureBuilder is a modeling tool, not a compiler or debugger or project manager.   It is meant to be used in conjuction with an integrated development environment such as JBuilder, Visual Cafe or Forte.    I t is very important to remember to always save your files before switching between StructureBuilder and your development environment.
