Scenarios, or user stories, are meant to describe how a user will interact
with a system. These stories assume a starting state and a pre-existing
environment. However, the situations should prompt thought and questions
as to how the interface (and the underlying model implementation) should
function. Since it is virtually impossible to get an interface perfect
the first time, it will be neccessary to iteratively re-work the design.
These scenarios will hopefully give some insight into how the customer
(Dr. Nguyen) envisions others using this product. The list is by no means
extensive; the user stories represent the main functionality as we see it so far.
The stories are divided up by user category (mall manager, store
owner, or both). There are also some additional notes that address observations
from speaking with the customer and a screenshot of the mall manager's
interface.
